Student Artwork
In the Art Classroom
Art Teacher (PreK-12)
The art classroom is a place to explore curiosity, wonder, traditions, and so much more. My hope is that I am able to instill an enthusiasm for Art, for teaching, and for learning with the energy I bring to each lesson. I want my students to know that all of their efforts are important, and to develop lifelong skills such as personal responsibility and open-mindedness.
All About Me
I grew up in Olney, Maryland where I attended high school and first began devoting more of my time to art classes. What I loved most about those early classes was how I ended up with a group of unexpected friendships. My art classes were very conversational and I learned a lot about myself, my values, and my classmates. At the same time, I spent the summers as a swim instructor and so I naturally ended up becoming a teacher. My mother was a teacher also, and I have learned much from her as well. As a teacher, a coach, and as a reading and math tutor, I have worked with a wide range of age groups. I especially enjoy working with Elementary age students because of how enthusiastic they are to learn.
